Port with shutter

projection ports

MGS manufactures a range of ports for use in the cinema industry. Our ports are made to exact standards and are all tested to international fire standards.

Pictured to the left is our shutter port which must be used in some regions due to fire regulations.

We can provide ports with shutters or without shutters and in a varying range of sizes depending on your needs. We can even custom manufacture to your needs in nearly any size or shape.

features

Unique glass clips

The MGS glass clip allows for fast and easy removal of the glass plate with out the need for any tools of special equipment. The glass will then easily slide out for cleaning.

Fuseable links

In the event of fire the fuseable link will break causing the shutter to drop and seal the port. This eliminates the need for complicated electric catches or release cables.

Glass plate

The glass plate can be ordered in optical glass and viewing glass. The optical qualities are superior to avoid any distortion in the projected image. Optical glass would be used for projection of any film, viewing glass would be selected for the viewing port or the slide projector port.

Wall widths and mounting

Our standard port will mount withing the following wall widths, this is achieved with the sliding sleves. 160mm minimum thickness to 280mm maximum thickness.

Mounting hole

The opening within the wall will need to be made 10mm larger on each side to make room for the port fitting. For example if the port is 650mm x 500mm the opening would need to be 670mm x 520mm.

Installation instructions

Complete installation instructions are provided with the ports. The installation can be performed by any competent tradesman.

Complete installation kit

When you recieve a port kit all of the components will be provided for instalation: Sealing tape to seal the glass to the port and stop sound transfer, black rivets to attach the outer sleve to the inner sleve, silicon sealant to seal the outer sleve to the inner sleve, glass holding clips and the main port and glass.

Double glazed kit

If you require a double glazed port we hav and attachment that mounts to an existing port kit to allow for double glazing. You will need to order the standard port kit and the double glazzing option as shown below.

As we manufacture to your order a lead time of 4 weeks is required for delivery. This may vary due to order loads at the time and we would suggest that you talk to us to confirm delivery for your schedule.
